ETA: Sorry - it was just brought to my attention (Thanks Adrian!) that non-Hawaii residents might not know what "Shoyu" is - it's actually Soy Sauce... the same sauce they use to dip Sushi into... you might be able to find it in "International Marketplace" type of stores - or any asian type stores.
We had a lil' BBQ today with some of my friends from my old working place. Sorry no pictures, but I do have this recipe to share with you. We were too busy catching up, talking stories, and having a great time - but no one even thought about the photos that we should've been taking.
The recipe is actually from a friend of mines, Kelly - thanks for this recipe, girl!!! It turned out onolicious!!! Now, I'm sharing it with the rest of the world....
5 lbs chicken thighs
6 fl oz pineapple juice
6 fl oz shoyu (Soy Sauce)
6 oz sugar
ginger - about 1 inch more or less
garlic - about 2 cloves
TO Do: Mix together everything except the chicken in pot, and bring to boil. Make sure the sugar is dissolved. After it boils, and sugar is dissolved, add chicken and cook for about 45 minutes on medium-low heat. Check to see if tender. Eat as is, or brown on BBQ grill. Enjoy!!!
